The community of Piccaire, on Long Island was one of the many victims of the controversial "Newfoundland Resettlement Program" of the 1950's and 60's, sucumbing to total resettlement in the mid 1960's.
This site is dedicated as a memorial to the place, and the people that lived here. Included in this site are a few photographs, links to virtually all the sites I can find related to Piccaire and a thorough history taken directly from the Encylcopedia of Newfoundland and Labrador.
Any further information, photos or even comments are most certainly welcomed. These can be sent by clicking on the email link that follows.
